Fence Pal, "The Overspray Protector", Vertical Drop Cloth System

How It All Started
Fence Pal, The Beginning

Every professional painter and homeowner has been searching for an easy and efficient way to
minimize overspray when staining or power washing fences.  In the Spring of 2005 Tony Hollins, of
Longview Texas was faced with the unenviable task of cleaning and staining his weathered fence.
He placed countless drop cloths over his shrubs and tried taping painter’s paper on his fence to
prevent the overspray from getting all over his shrubs, house, synthetic putting green, and in the
swimming pool.  After covering everything with drop cloths, the fear of overspray getting on the
these areas still existed because there was nothing to keep the stain from drifting.

After numerous hours with limited success using traditional methods and products, he decided that he
needed to invent a vertical drop cloth system that would protect his shrubs, swimming pool, and his
synthetic putting green from the debris caused by pressure washing and the overspray from applying
the stain on his fence.  The apparatus needed to be easy to use and portable for one person to use.
This is when Fence Pal
“The Overspray Protector” was developed.

After successfully completing his fence-staining project with his prototype Fence Pal
, he sensed
that other homeowners and paint contractors probably experienced the same frustration. He did
several months of research and discovered there were no products on the market that gave the
homeowner or the paint contractor the ability to clean or stain a fence without having to cover
everything with drop cloths.

Hollins also discovered in his research that more than 1,000 vehicles a day as well as other
property is damaged by paint overspray in  the United States, resulting in more than one-half of a
billion dollars in damage and insurance claims annually.

Wickert, Matthiesen, Wickert & Lehrer, S.C., Hartford, Wisconsin) .

Hollins spent painstaking hours visualizing the ultimate overspray protector that would virtually
eliminate the need for countless drop cloths to protect the exterior property of the homeowner as well
as  their neighbors.  He consulted with a friend who was more mechanically inclined, and together
they developed the ultimate overspray protector, Fence Pal
.

The Fence Pal
will revolutionize how contractors and homeowners view the task of cleaning and
staining fences.  What was once viewed as a cumbersome task that was always put off can now be
viewed as just another task around the house; eventually eliminating so many weathered fences in
your neighborhood.

The Fence Pal
can be put together in less than 5 minutes by one person and can be moved from
one section of fence to another (covers approximately 15 feet) in less than 1 minute, saving time and
money.
